Frequently Asked Questions - General >>>
What type of computers do you use and why?

For some reason a client may feel that the quality of the design work, the professionalism of the artwork and compatibilty for their own use is down to the type of computers we use. It isn't - it's down to the people that use them.

Predominantly we use Apple computers, for the power, speed and reliability, and we design our files to be cross-format and are transported on hybrid (pc and mac) cd and dvd roms.

For testing and compatibility we use PCs running a basic install of Microsoft Windows XP, to ensure that what we are looking at is what the average user is looking at. We have the basic, core fonts on these systems and use the default browsers.

Also, for building websites locally, we have a Linux server, which is a separate stand alone computer that is set up to emulate the web space in which the final site will reside on the internet. We do this so we can build and test your site, with effecting your existing site, and bringing the server to a grinding halt when we find a bug!
