I know, I know, I haven't blogged for ages, but there is a reason for that... :)

Apart from being generally busy, I have been creating a new website for Infiniti (still in development) and I have just launched a new eMarketing platform, a free business directory for County Mayo, Ireland called MayoFree.com.

To make it free the site is being sponsored by Infiniti Mixed Media, and my main goal is to create a good, rich directory of businesses, services, organisations, groups and clubs in County Mayo. It was inspired by my own clients' need for a cost-effective method of promoting their businesses, which has been focussed by the recent economic downturn.

To make it a good and valuable resource, we need to have as many listings in the directory as possible, and from all types of businesses. Not just the few that can afford it.

So the obvious strategy is to make it free, and reduce the amount of obstacles between every day business in County Mayo, and being able to advertise for free on the internet. I have tried to make the site as easy and accessible as possible to use, whilst at the same time, building it in a way that it does not consume all my time to maintain.

The main 'core' of the site will always be free, but future plans could include adding additional bolt-on sites to the MayoFree.com brand, for job listings, property sales, car sales and classified advertising.

SligoFree.com, RoscommonFree.com and GalwayFree.com are also penciled in for development - watch these spaces...
